Luca Alinari
He was born in Florence in 1943. At a very young age he discovered a passion for painting and like all children he draws and paints. In his twenties he enrolled at the Faculty of Arts where he approached the world of art criticism. In 1968 he organized his first personal exhibition at the Galleria Inquadrature in Florence. His first stylistic references are to the current "Neodada", in adherence to which he uses the most diverse techniques: drawing with the use of fluorescent colors, decals, collages and photographic transpositions. In the second half of the 1970s, his name began to spread among critics and the public, so much so that he was asked to exhibit personal exhibitions in various Italian art galleries and finally, in 1982, he was invited to the Venice Biennale. The fundamental element of his painting is the absolute absence of perspective planes, his compositions recall the innocence of childhood as if they were imaginary journeys in childhood memories. His paintings, real fairytale worlds, are characterized by the lively, almost vivid, application of colors. Luca Alinari has also very successfully dedicated himself to Art Graphics by creating, especially in screen printing and lithography, a series of original works for use of materials and formats. Since 1989 his name has risen further in the esteem of critics and the public, up to the creation of very important exhibitions in very prestigious locations: in the Palazzo Lanfranchi in Matera, in Ljubljana, in the Galleria Fogola in Turin, in the Royal Palace in Milan, at the Casa del Masaccio in the Valdarno, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Villa Croce in Genoa, at the Tour Fromage in Aosta, in the Il Bisonte Gallery in Florence. An exhaustive illustration of his career was given in 1993 by the anthology curated by E. Crispolti at the Arengo in Milan. He died on March 15, 2019 in Florence.
