"Chicken Trap" by Armodio is a surreal work created with the tempera technique on wood, which gives the painting an extraordinary chromatic softness and a surface that amplifies the sense of suspension and mystery. The cold tones, between light blue and stone grey, envelop the composition in a rarefied, timeless atmosphere. The protagonist figure is a chicken, rendered in a highly stylized way with metallic and rigid features, in stark contrast with its organic and delicate nature. This contrast emphasizes a sense of alienation and unnaturalness, transforming a symbol of everyday life and simplicity into a enigmatic and almost monumental totem. The hen, wrapped in a cloth that amplifies it the mysterious aura, carries on the top of the head a sort of crest composed of elements that they recall stylized leaves or feathers, symbol of a hybrid between naturalness and artifice. The egg suspended in the centre, hanging from a thin thread, is the true symbolic fulcrum of the scene: it represents fragility, birth and the potential contained in life, but here it appears vulnerable, isolated and perhaps even threatened by the context around him. The thread unravels creating an arc that passes through the composition, guiding the viewer's eye and connecting the various elements in a fluid visual rhythm, a metaphor for the life cycle. Il titolo, "Trappola per galline", suggerisce un'ironia sottile e una riflessione simbolica: la gallina, rigida e quasi priva di vitalità, sembra essa stessa vittima di un contesto che ne contraddice l'essenza. L'opera si configura così come una meditazione poetica sulla tensione tra libertà e costrizione, tra naturalezza e artificio, caratteristiche centrali dell'arte metafisica, e al tempo stesso poetica, di Armodio.
