In the renovated rooms of the Casa Museo Giovanni Pascoli in Castelvecchio Pascoli (Barga,
Lucca), future headquarters of the Pascoli Study Centre, from 5 August to 17 September 2023 will host
the exhibition Ut pictura poësis. Dialogues between Ciro Palumbo and Giovanni Pascoli, curated by Lucia
Morelli with an introductory text by Giovanni Faccenda.
The exhibition, organised by Bernabò Home Gallery with the contribution of Fondazione Giovanni
Pascoli Foundation and the patronage of the Regional Council of Tuscany and the Municipality of Barga, presents
around twenty unpublished works by Ciro Palumbo (Zurich, 1965), a romantic artist, visionary poet
dream painter.
The title of the exhibition, which refers to the aesthetic principle of Ut pictura poësis, highlights the relationship
of close interdependence between the arts, in this case between Ciro Palumbo's painting and the poetry of
Giovanni Pascoli, who came to Castelvecchio in 1895. In the Barga countryside, celebrated in the
Canti di Castelvecchio, Pascoli found a new nest, a refuge for poetry and the soul.
