Viene

The work presents a composition with a strong visual impact, in which elements belonging to the popular imagination are reinterpreted through an expressive and disturbing sensitivity. At the center of the image appears a female figure with a retro feel, inspired by the advertising aesthetic of the 1950s: the smiling face, the elegant gesture of the hand, and the sharp color rendering evoke a reassuring and codified visual universe. This balance is, however, interrupted by the presence of a large green insect, which bursts into the scene with a bold, almost violent graphic sign. The contrast between the bright yellow background and the figure helps to amplify the visual tension, while the word "VIENE," placed at the top, introduces an ambiguous dimension, suspended between announcement and omen. The work reflects one of the distinctive features of Cucchi's research: the ability to blend iconic and recognizable elements with symbolic and disturbing images, generating an open, layered and highly evocative narrative.
