In this composition, the still life transforms into an image suspended between reality and abstraction. The bunch of green apples, compact and almost sculptural, emerges from a background divided into distinct fields of color—pink, purple, and yellow—that obliterate any traditional spatial reference. The artificial and uniform light shapes the volumes with silent precision, while the glossy surfaces of the fruit reflect unreal gleams, accentuating a timeless dimension. The everyday object thus loses its function to become an icon: a stable, immobile, almost metaphysical presence. Through a rigorous formal synthesis and an intense palette Salvo constructs an image that is at once familiar and alienating, where color does not describe, but evokes, and space becomes pure pictorial invention.
