Carlo Sciff (Bonassola - SP, 1946). Always linked to the field of both author and industrial design, Sciff has his intellectual and executive matrix in the Pop Art current of the Sixties, in the recovery of a propensity for advertising emphasis and product commodification through compositional models from the line pure and essential, studied on popular stereotypes. The close contact with the genius of Vico Magistretti predisposes him to the analysis of the form as well as the content: on the one hand, industrial design brings linearity and chromatic harmony; on the other, the literary directive, based on a cultured and never trivialized irony, allows the irreverent and amused comparison with the basic elements of International Pop - where nothing is questioned - through the functional ostentation of the personal classical Latin culture that becomes a fundamental part of the work. The relationship between forms with immediate readability, ironic titles and Latin quotations with a real ethical implication, although never moralizing, lead the observer to reflect lightly on the empty habits, obsessions and manias of a conventional bourgeoisie poor in self-criticism. Worthy of note are the participations in the Rome Art Award (Rome, 2016), the Roberto Zambelli Award (Perugia, 2016), the Michelangelo Buonarroti International Award (Seravezza - LU, 2017), the 2nd Biennale of Art in Genoa; and at some Contemporary Art Fairs (Lucca Art Fair 2017, Arte Salerno 2017, Arte Cremona 2019).
