Armodio
The painting, made in tempera on wood, is an intense reflection on duality and relationships between individuals. The pictorial technique used, tempera, gives an opaque and richly textured quality to the work, creating a material surface that invites the viewer to explore every detail carefully. Tempera allows Armodio to create a range of neutral and controlled colours, giving the work a feeling of solidity and concreteness, as if wanting to eternally fix the figures represented. The symbolism in the work is rich and complex: the subjects, despite their formal simplicity, seem to carry with them profound meanings linked to the human condition, such as intimacy, solitude, but also the strength of an encounter. The two ovoid objects are recurring in Armodio's imagination, as is the red thread that unites many of his compositions.
