The work constructs a suspended scene, where a domestic setting becomes enigmatic and mental. The house and courtyard, marked by empty chairs and everyday objects, suggest an absence rather than a presence. The light, ambiguous and almost unreal, divides the space between a warm clarity and a cold gloom, creating a perceptual tension that destabilizes the scene's time. The slightly altered proportions also contribute to a sense of interior vision, more than realistic. There are echoes of Giorgio de Chirico's metaphysical painting, but reinterpreted in a more organic and narrative key. The result is a silent and dense image, which exists precisely in the expectation of something that never happens.
