Luca Dall’Olio
Luca Dall’Olio was born in Chiari (Brescia), after attending the Foppa Art School in Brescia he graduated from the Brera Academy in 1980 and then immediately began his artistic career.
In 1986 the first monograph dedicated to his work was published and entitled "Luca Dall'Olio, a young prince in the empire of signs", followed by "Sedimentazioni Sentimentali", another monograph released in 1990 on the occasion of the exhibition in the prestigious Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara.
Around 2002, the artist created an important 20 square meter mosaic for the Villa Bonelli metro station in Rome.
The artist's main means of expression is oil painting, but his works include screen printing, sculpture, and photography. The tools used are acrylic paint, gold leaf, lead, wood, steel, iron and copper. His travels to discover the world and the most hidden places of beloved Italy have always been an infinite source of inspiration for the artist and an opportunity to filter and reinterpret faces, landscapes, cities and distant cultures. Inspiration and great respect also for the work of the expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and the artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Dall’Olio has exhibited and exhibits at national and international galleries and museums, and at modern and contemporary art fairs, such as the Miami International Expo and the Art Expo in NY. He participated in the XII National Quadrennial Exhibition in Rome, and in 2011 he was selected among the artists of the Italian Pavilion of the "Venice Biennale - 54th International Art Exhibition". Recently involved in the social sector with Art-therapy projects and workshops, collaborations with Anfas, with the young people of the Zefiro Social Cooperative. Luca participated in the Aba Autismo project, which leads to the collective exhibition "Giving shape to Dreams" at the Porta Sant’Agostino in Bergamo. In 2018 Luca lived a long experience, in Brazil, precisely in Parà, in Castanhal, at the Escola das Artes São Lucas. Also in Castanhal, the artist has the opportunity to organize a workshop with Ceapa, Centro de Atmosfera in Pessoa with Autism. A solo exhibition of Luca Dall’Olio was held at the prestigious headquarters of the Morcelli Foundation in Chiari (BS). In this project Paolo Cappelletti through his critical writing explored the different thematic directions of the artist's production.
