Antonio Nunziante

Antonio Nunziante was born in Naples on September 26, 1956. After graduating from secondary school in Art, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts for two years. In 1975, after completing his training in restoration techniques in Florence, he returned to Turin. In 1985 the exhibition in Spello, next to Pietro Annigoni. This period is characterized by research and experimentation, through conceptual works signed under the pseudonym of Rascal Babaloo. He participates in the Bergamo Biennale between 1986 and 1990. The exhibitions at the Yonemara Country Club in Tokyo in 1990 and at the New York Artexpo in 1991 allow Nunziante to exhibit again internationally. In 1993 he exhibited at the Renzo Spagnoli Art Gallery in Florence while his experimentation continued and in the same years he painted Nature Silenti, inspired by Flemish art and published in 1994 as part of his first monograph. 2007 is characterized by the succession of numerous exhibitions. In April Nunziante exhibits at the Home House in London, in October at the Palais des Congres in Paris and in December at the Palazzo della Promotrice delle Belle Arti in Turin, with a personal anthology. Followed by Oneiros, the personal exhibition in Venice curated by Luca Beatrice in 2009, the exhibition at the Red Hot Art Fair in Miami in the same year, and that of Prague in 2010, at the Brehova Gallery, in December of the same year with the exhibition at Castel Sismondo di Rimini entitled Nunziante by Caravaggio, Nunziante is inspired by and compares with the Ecstasy of San Francesco d'Assisi by the Milanese master. After the personal The vision further at the Chiostro del Bramante in Rome, presents 40 new works at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa with Landscapes of Light, alongside the exhibition Van Gogh and the Journey of Gauguin: both exhibitions are curated by Marco Goldin. 2013 ends with a solo show in Dubai, at the Capital Club. 2014 opens with an international collective exhibition at Palazzo Reale in Turin with De Chirico, Warhol, Casorati, Boetti, Savinio, Hirst, Schifano, Baj, Rotella, Chia and Botero, followed by the two anthologies at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence in contemporary with Maggio Fiorentino and Palazzo Panichi in Pietrasanta Archived on 30 December 2019 in the Internet Archive., for the 500th anniversary of the death of Michelangelo Buonarroti. On 22 June 2016 personal exhibition at the Pall Mall Gallery in London. On June 27, 2016, the Picasso-Mirò-Nunziante exhibition curated by exhibition commissioner Jean-Christophe Hubert opens at the Oud Sint-Jean XPO museum in Bruges in Belgium. In 2018, the traveling exhibition "Penser l'image et peindre la pensée" moves to Turkey at the Uniq Museum in Istanbul and after three months of exposure the works return to Italy; while the 8 works that follow the exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci - The inventions of a genius" continue their tour around the world. In 2019 he returns to the United States for the renowned exhibition of artists in Art Santa Fè, New Mexico and goes as far as the Mexican borders to exhibit together with Dalì at the Palcco museum in Guadalajara. In 2020 and 2021 the master created frescoes for charity in the oncology department of the Gemelli hospital, to which he also donated about thirty paintings, which are exhibited along the corridor and in the clinics of the same department.
